The Almighty Point and Kill
Yesterday was really amazing.
The weather was so cold and the only thing i could think of was a bowl of Peppersoup. In fact all i craved was the popular point and kill which is a regular name for the catfish Peppersoup. From my research it is called point and kill because at the market , you will be directed to point out your fish of choice from a large bowl of swimming fishes ;the catfish is then killed , wrapped up for you and ready for the kitchen . Instead of going to a fancy restaurant or a bar in Lagos where the cat fish Peppersoup is usually sold, my friends and I decided to cook the meal at home.
So I would be sharing my recipe with you all.
Maggi and Salt
Make use of the alum to wash the catfish so as to remove excess blood from it. Boil some hot water and pour on the pieces of fish in order to toughen the skin of the fish so that it doesn’t break while cooking.
Season the fish with maggi and salt ,then place in a pot with water and let it boil for 10-15 minutes. Once it boils add the Peppersoup spice, the Cameroon pepper and more maggi and salt to taste and continue cooking.
Wash the scent leaves and chop it into tiny pieces. Add the chopped leaves and grounded cray fish into the meal on fire and let it steam for 5 minutes.
There you go, your catfish Peppersoup is ready. I ate my mine with rice, like I said it was amazing .
Catfish could be eaten with Eko, White rice or Boiled yam. Make sure it is served hot.
Try it today and thank me later.
