A Lagosian’s Delicacy; Crunchy Yam balls
Lagosians definitely like eating attractive meals, it is another point if the food is really tasty.
Yam balls can be served as an appetizer and can be served as the main course when you decide to add Chili sauce and a little vegetable. Yam balls can be served at events as small chops because whether hot or cold they retain their awesomeness. Its Crunchy! Chewy ! And Creamy!
Its amazing when made with fillings like mince meat and sardine. You can also add pepper and onions to taste.
I would be revealing my recipe on how to make delicious and tasty yam balls.
Small tuber of yam
1 cup of bread crumbs
1)Cut yam into pieces and cook with salt till it is really soft. Use a masher to mash up the yam, then allow it to cool in order not to burn your fingers.
2)Beat one egg and add to the yam. Mix and knead with your hands till you get a dough like texture.
3) Beat the second egg and place in a plate, then place the bread crumbs in another plate.
4)Take a tam dough and flatten it on your Palm, take a little sardine or mince meat and put in the middle of the flattened dough. Try forming a ball like shape to close the fillings very well.
5)Dip yam in beaten egg and then roll in the breadcrumbs and place in a clean bowl. Repeat the same process till you have moulded all your balls.
6)Put rolled yamballs into hot oil and deep fry. Fry till it is golden brown.
