[MUSIC REVIEW]: Barry Jhay Takes Over With Don Pablo
For every time I hear a new song from a new artiste, I usually don’t get excited about that artiste not until he/she drops their second and third singles before I can give my verdict but some artistes are just too talented that I can tell they are the real deal from their first single and I’m here to talk about one of those artistes. Ladies and gentlemen, let’s talk about Barry Jhay.
It will be surprising to many of you that I didn’t catch the whole Barry Jhay Aiye fever until two months after the song was released. I mean I have always heard a bit of the song here and there but I didn’t listen to the full song till two months later. Like most new artiste, I was under the impression that Barry Jhay song was just that first single charm and by the time he will release his second song then he will be exposed but after listening to Aiye properly, I had to put out a tweet saying, Barry Jhay is the real deal.
Don Pablo is the second official single of Barry Jhay and I can’t even remember the number of times I have listened to this song, Don Pablo is a song that proves how much of a talent Barry Jhay is, his vocals, his lyrical ability, his composition and arrangements, everything Barry Jhay did on the song is mind-blowing. I listen to him and I’m like, if this guy continues like this, him fit pursue Wande Coal oo. Of course not saying he is better than Wande Coal but everything about him reminds of a young Wande Coal and if he continues at this rate, it is safe to say we have ourselves another Wande Coal in the making.
Don Pablo talks about his desire to become successful in life, with lines like “I want to make wave like Adenuga, Adenuga ke, e soro Bill Gate ke soro owo, “I want to make wave pass Dangote, Dangote ke, e soro Don Pablo, ke soro owo” Don Pablo is another banger that will go down as one of the best new songs of the year, the rating will be 8/10.
