The way Lagosians look forward to December will leave you in awe. I can’t really explain the happiness it brings, probably because of the meals, outings and the fun it comes with. For some, December is the month they are able to eat whatever they could not eat throughout the year while for others it is that time of the year set aside to visit fancy restaurants. You think you know beautiful meals like Fried Rice? Read this.
Why spend 83k in a restaurant when you can just cook your meal and spend way less than that amount. This December is going to be amazing because I will be dropping recipes of my favourite meals and will definitely back it up with how to cook them.
How to cook Fried rice:
Green peas, green beans
Carrot, sweetcorn, Red bell pepper, green pepper,
Onions, curry, thyme
Meat stock, salt and stock cubes.
•Parboil the meat to be used. It could be chicken, turkey or red beef.
•Parboil with necessary ingredients (salt, thyme, cubes of Maggi and onions).
•Make sure the meat is properly cooked and meat stock is reserved.
•Wash then chop all available vegetables which include carrot, liver, green beans and green pepper.
Fry with cooking margarine, stir for some minutes, then add curry to give the yellowish colour, add Maggi and salt to taste. Keep aside.
•Parboil rice, then cook with half of the meat stock with additional water till its 80% done.
•Add fried vegetables into the rice and stir. Cover pot and cook for 5 to 10 minutes.
Serve with Plantain, Moimoi or Salad.
